Agriculture is Arkansas' largest industry and is a vital , growing component of the state's economy.
Out of the $79 billion dollars for Arkansas adjusted GDP, agriculture makes up 20% of that with $16 billion dollars GDP. Nearly 287,000 Arkansas workers, or 20% of Arkansas work force depend on agriculture for employment and just about all of those workers are found in rural Arkansas. That is why it is so important to maintain our roads in rural Arkansas, not just for the infrastructure of moving agriculture products, but for our school buses, people traveling back and forth to work and for our way of life.
